Health Care Passed but not Past

Today I get the chain email AGAIN that I got last summer that is debuffed here.

And ALL I hear on the news is blah blah blah how Republicans plan to sue the pants off the government. And how they will NEVER cooperate AGAIN with the Democrats to get anything done in Congress. Just as bitter and venomous as the whole debate has been.

The thing I most agree with in the video below is that Tea-Party-Fox-icans believe this Health Care bill means America is automatically heading straight for a Stalinist Russian society. John Stewart says, "Isn't there a certain kind of tyranny in a free country that would allow someone to lose their house and everything that they've worked for their entire lives just because a loved one got sick and wasn't insured- isn't that a tyranny?"

This is Not a Happy Post

Although I'm thankful I have The Colbert Report and The Daily Show to help me laugh about things like this. My husband and I think this Supreme Court Decision (Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission) is the worst thing to happen in American government in DECADES!!!

One of the core reasons we both switched parties is that we feel that Republicans are in bed with big business too much, but now, the whole elected government is going to basically do whatever it takes to get funding. Can you just imagine now the bribing and blackmailing this will cause? Are the justices DRUNK??? It's unreal.

I love this Colbert Report episode "Preci-DON'T." It makes me want to put my law school hat on again and actually look up the written opinions & read what on earth made them decide this way because from an outsider's view, it sure seems illogical & smells like pure corruption!! (Yep, in addition to becoming a democrat, I've become a bit of a conspiratorialist, as well...) :)
